Calculating the Energy Saving of an Induction Cooker

The only way to know how much electricity a particular make and model of induction cooker will use less than the stove you are wanting to compare it with at full power is to accurately measure how much electricity your stove uses at a power consumption level of 2000w to boil 100 ml of water at a starting temperature of 20 degrees centigrade and turn it all into steam.

Once this has been done again take 100 ml of water at 20 degrees centigrade using the same pot as before and boil it at a power setting of 2000w on the induction cooker you would like to compare it with until all the water turns to steam.

You would need to do this same test a number of times at different power settings because the electricity savings vary a lot at different power settings. In tests we did the biggest electricity savings were made at the lower power settings. So the lower the power setting that you use the more electricity you save using an induction cooker.

In comparative laboratory tests that we have conducted with our IH Induction Cookers we have found that the amount of electricity used by just about every make of conventional electric stove varies, some are more and some are less energy efficient than others therefore the electricity saving made by our stoves varies from one make of conventional electric stove to another as well as from one power consumption setting to another.

From our own laboratory tests we have clearly proven that anyone who simply says that their stoves use 50% less or any other figure of electricity that a conventional electric stove is simply lying to sell their stove be it our brand or someone else’s brand.

All that I can say with certainty is that against every conventional electric stove that we tested our IH Induction cookers although the savings varied in all the tests they saved a considerable amount of electricity in comparison to the stoves that we tested them against.

The maximum energy saving recorded in our own laboratory tests using energy efficient pots and energy efficient cooking methods was over 65%.
